ENGINEERED HARDWOOD

Why Choose Engineered Hardwood?

Engineered hardwood flooring is more versatile and stable than solid hardwood. It is also more resistant to humidity and other types of moisture than solid hardwood flooring, allowing it to be much better suited for below-grade installations such as basements where higher amounts of moisture can be common.

This type of hardwood flooring is able to be installed over radiant heating systems, which has been known to dry out solid hardwood flooring. Causing such effects as shrinking of the solid hardwood boards or buckling of the solid hardwood flooring.

High Quality & Durable Hardwood Flooring That Will Last You Years

Engineered hardwood flooring overcomes many of the problems associated with solid hardwood flooring such as warping, swelling, or splitting apart from each other. This is due to the fact that engineered hardwood is typically comprised of three or more layers. The outermost veneer layer of the hardwood can be from 0.4mm to 4.5mm+ in thickness and can provide many years of wear to the lifespan of the flooring. If the hardwood is thick enough, engineered hardwood flooring can be sanded and refinished to remove any blemishes and/or wear, and restore the floor too look brand new years after the installation.
